Trojan Horse: A Novel and Kill Decision

While searching for new books from some of my favorite authors last night, I stumbled across the new Mark Russinovich book, Trojan Horse: A Novel. I can’t wait to get my hands on this thing when it comes out. That goes for the upcoming Daniel Suarez novel, Kill Decision, as well.

Yesterday my daughter and I were sitting on the couch not really watching TV. Instead of paying attention we were talking about a couple of new books she had just discovered and was considering reading. We went back and forth for a while until I experienced one of those deep gasping moments I tend to have when I remember something that I wasn’t supposed to forget. “Daniel Suarez’s new book comes out in July and it’s July next week!”

I opened the laptop that lives on the arm of the couch and searched my calendar for the appointment that I surely had setup to notify me when the book was coming out. I found nothing. “Huh?” I opened up Amazon.com and found what I was looking for. Kill Decision by Daniel Suarez comes out July 19th and is available for pre-order on Amazon and probably just about every book retailer on the planet.

Daniel Suarez is the author of the highly praised Daemon and the sequel Freedom TM. These books are masterpieces in the cyberpunk, hacker, geek, nerd, whatever you want to call it, genre. As if that wasn’t enough, the story is great, they’re very well written, and technically accurate. If you haven’t already read these books and you like books about tech, gaming, world politics, hackers, intrigue, etc., you’re going to love these books and you’re going to be as excited as I am to read what Suarez’s has to offer next.

What does this have to do with Mark Russinovich? While browsing for Daniel Suarez, Amazon thought I might be interested in some other related products like Trojan Horse: A Novel. Targeted advertising in action. Russinovich’s new book comes out September 4th and it will be mine. If it’s anything like his previous novel, Zero Day, it’s going to be great.

I ordered the Kindle versions of both Trojan Horse and Kill Decision on the spot. If you’ve read these authors previous work, you might want to check these new books out. If you haven’t read these, and you’re into this kind of stuff go get Daemon and Zero Day right now. Let me know what you think. I think you’re in for a treat, to say the least.

If you’re thinking, “Everybody knows these books are coming out. What rock did this guy just crawl out from under?” The sad truth is I have no idea how to know when my favorite author's new books are coming out or up for pre-order. Let me in on the little secret, if there is one.
